SHRINKING CITY + BAUHAUS-TOURISM
To understand the causes of shrinking cities ? the high unemployment rates ? the workshop group arranged an appointment with the spokeswoman of the Federal Employment Office, Ms. Renée Ramm. She mentioned that the residents do not feel addressed by the bauhaus events, since - as they think - "the bauhaus with its elite attitude sets itself apart from the city and its citizens".
Mrs Ramm sees the Bauhaus tourism as an important impulse for Dessau and believes there could be more jobs created within the tourism branch.

To gather further information about tourism, the group visited the spokesman of City Buergeramt Mr Carsten Sauer and Christine Lambrecht, head of the City Department for Tourism and Marketing.
